We welcome your child as a patient...

and appreciate the opportunity to provide him/her with pediatric dental services. The information that follows is designed to answer many questions most parents have.

We want you to know about our policies and methods of practice. The more you know, the more we can be of service.  If there are any questions, however, please ask since we do want to be of help.

Everyone in this practice operates as a team member. All have been trained as professionals and we take pride in our professional capability.

Patients We Treat. We see children of any age up to and including high school students. Services Provided. We perform comprehensive preventive and restorative dental care for children including fillings, extraction, space maintainers, pit and fissure sealants and orthodontics (braces). Nitrous oxide (laughing gas), sedatives and tranquilizers are used when indicated.

Functional Appliances. A major interest we have is the proper growth and development of the child's face and jaws. We want each child to have a good jaw relationship, room for the teeth and a pleasing profile and smile.
To this end we use many Functional Appliances. These "retainer-like" appliances help stimulate growth and can correct many jaw and tooth position problems.
These treatments are usually started when the child is entering a growth phase, before conventional braces would be able to be used.
If your child can benefit from this type of treatment, we will discuss it with you.

Recall Visits. We hope you share in our belief that regular preventive dental health care is a sound investment. While the responsibility for returning for this treatment rests primarily with you, we will provide the service of sending you a written reminder when it is time to return. We schedule recall visits 6 months in advance.

Fee and Payments - We make every effort to keep down the cost of dental care. It is our policy to collect fees as they are incurred. This means that any insurance deductibles and/or co-pays must be paid at the time of the visit. If your treatment program requires several visits, you will be given an estimate and asked to discuss definite financial arrangements with a member of our business office staff. For your convenience MasterCard and VISA may be used.
For orthodontic treatment, special arrangements are made.

Insurance - In most cases we accept assignment of benefits from the insurance companies. This means you pay us only that portion that the insurance company does not cover. Quite often a dental insurance plan will include a "pre-determination" or "prior authorization" clause. We will submit a treatment plan for review by your insurance carrier if this is a requirement of your plan.

Please remember that insurance is considered a method of reimbursing the patient for fees paid to the doctor and is not a substitute for payment.

Please remember that no insurance company attempts to cover all dental costs. Some companies pay fixed allowances for certain procedures and others pay a percentage of the charge. It is your responsibility to pay any deductible amount, co-insurance, or any other balance not paid for by your insurance company.

We know questions can arise on insurance matters. We encourage you to discuss such questions with our business office staff. We will be happy to help you receive the maximum benefits; however, the agreement of the insurance company to pay for your dental care is a contract between you and the insurance company.

One Final Note - No Smoking Please
Exposure to tobacco is hazardous to your health and the health of your child and we ask that you refrain from smoking while in this office.
